United Infrastructure has announced the acquisition of Simkiss Group, strengthening its position across the UK's energy, power and utilities markets.
United Infrastructure, a leading provider of solutions for the UK’s critical infrastructure, said the acquisition of the Rochdale-based engineering specialist represents a further step in its growth strategy and expands its technical capabilities.
Founded more than 25 years ago, Simkiss Group is a leading engineering solutions provider operating across sectors including energy, utilities and infrastructure. The company specialises in the design and build of control systems, control panels and switchgear, with services covering installation, testing, commissioning and ongoing maintenance, primarily within the utilities sector.
United Infrastructure said the deal broadens its technical offering and enhances its ability to deliver increasingly complex, end-to-end solutions for customers operating in critical infrastructure.
Neil Armstrong, Chairman and CEO of United Infrastructure, said: "This acquisition is a strong strategic fit for United Infrastructure. Simkiss Group brings proven design and engineering expertise that enhances our technical capability across energy and power activities.
"By investing in these skills, we are strengthening our ability to deliver more technical and integrated solutions for our customers operating in critical infrastructure."
Paul Simkiss, Group Chairman of Simkiss Group, said the acquisition marks an important milestone for the business.
"Joining United Infrastructure marks an exciting next chapter for Simkiss Group. We have built our reputation on quality, technical excellence and long-standing customer relationships, and United Infrastructure shares those values.
"Becoming part of a larger group will allow us to grow, invest further in our people and capabilities, and continue delivering high-quality solutions across the energy, utilities and infrastructure sectors."
