Wates Property Services (WPS), the Wates Group's property services arm, has been selected to deliver energy-efficiency improvements to more than 700 Orbit homes across the Midlands and the South of England.

Backed by Wave 3 of the Government's Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund (WHSHF), the programme extends an existing contract under which WPS has already completed retrofit works for Orbit. The scope includes insulation, low-carbon heating and renewable energy solutions, targeting around 450 homes in the Midlands and a further 250 in Bexley.

Orbit, a not-for-profit housing association, has pledged that 100% of its existing homes will achieve EPC band C or above by 2030. The continued investment is intended to support customers' transition to net zero, help cut emissions and potentially reduce energy bills.
