Construction Milestone Reached At The Boulevard Commercial Development

Construction activity continues to gather pace at The Boulevard, a major commercial development delivering new employment space in the growing township of Hampton, as a series of key milestones are achieved on site.

The 8.2-acre scheme, located approximately three miles from Peterborough city centre, is being delivered by Peveril Securities and Sladen Estates. The development will combine a Lidl food store with three industrial employment units, supporting the area’s continued emergence as a commercial destination.

Progress on the scheme remains on track, with the roof structure now installed on the Lidl store and external panels progressing well. Steel frameworks for the first two employment units have been completed, while construction has now begun on the final unit. Once completed, the development is expected to support several hundred new jobs and provide a significant boost to local business growth.

Sophie May, associate director of development at Sladen Estates, said: "The Boulevard continues to gain momentum, with this stage of construction marking a key milestone as the scheme emerges from the ground and visible progress is made on site.

"With units due for occupation in Q2 this year, the development will deliver high-quality, flexible employment space tailored to modern occupier needs. Each unit will include fully fitted first-floor offices with comfort cooling, double-height reception areas, strong amenity provision, secure service yards and level loading access."

The employment units will offer flexible accommodation ranging from 27,150 sq ft to 64,300 sq ft and will be available either for sale or to let.

"Strong enquiry levels are already being seen from both growing local businesses and national operators, with discussions ongoing ahead of completion," Sophie added.

Situated within a one-hour drive of approximately 2.93 million residents, The Boulevard offers a highly attractive location for occupiers seeking strong connectivity, profile and growth potential. The site benefits from direct access to Peterborough's main road network and is surrounded by established retail and leisure destinations, including McDonald's, Tesco and M&S, as well as Serpentine Green Shopping Centre and Premier Fitness.

The scheme is being delivered as a joint venture between Peveril Securities Limited and Sladen Estates Limited, a partnership with a strong track record of delivering high-quality developments across the UK. Eddisons and M1 Agency have been appointed as agents for the development.
