Bolsover councillors have unanimously approved plans for 547 new homes at Castle Walk, in a scheme brought forward by Persimmon, Strata and Stancliffe Homes.

The decision paves the way for the second phase of the Castle Walk project, where more than 200 homes have already been completed.

As part of the plans, the housebuilders will invest more than £5.2 million in the local area, including providing land for a new primary school, improvements to transport infrastructure and enhancements to public open spaces. Persimmon will also deliver a new town park.

The new phase will feature a mix of properties ranging from 2 to 5-bedrooms, including bungalows, semi-detached and detached homes.

George Breed, Persimmon Nottingham Head of Planning said: "We are delighted the next phase of the Castle Walk development has been approved by Councillors.

"This latest phase will provide a wide range of house types and sizes alongside significant funding for local services and infrastructure."
