Severn Trent To Outline £3m Chester Water Pipe Upgrades

Severn Trent is inviting residents and local businesses to learn more about a £3 million programme to replace water pipes across the Chester area.

Around 41km of water mains will be renewed in Great Barrow, Mickle Trafford, Aldford, Saighton, Eccleston and Pulford. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday 2 February and is expected to be completed by April 2027.

Two public drop-in events will be held later this month to keep people informed, explain traffic management plans and offer support ahead of the works.

The first session will take place at Aldford Village Hall on Wednesday 21 January between 2.30pm and 6.30pm, followed by a second at Eccleston Village Hall on Thursday 22 January from 4pm to 7pm.

Catherine Webb, Community Communications Officer at Severn Trent, said: "We look forward to welcoming customers along to the sessions as they are an opportunity for people to speak with us face to face and understand the plans.

"Everyone is encouraged to come along to the events and tell us about anything they might need while the work is under way.

"We'll do everything we can to minimise disruption while delivering long term improvements for residents and businesses."

The upgrade in and around Aldford, Saighton, Eccleston and Pulford aims to improve the reliability and quality of the water supply for years to come.

Access to all businesses will remain open throughout the works. Access for residents will be maintained wherever possible, though brief restrictions may occur when activity is taking place directly outside properties; those affected will be notified in advance.
