Vistry, working in partnership with Enfield Council and Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing, has marked the completion of the main building frame at Meridian Two, a key milestone in the delivery of 274 affordable homes and 3,000 sq m of commercial space at Meridian Water in Edmonton.

The £92 million scheme is being developed on Leeside Road and will transform a former gasworks site into a new residential neighbourhood. All homes at Meridian Two will be delivered as affordable housing, forming part of the wider regeneration of Meridian Water.

Leeside Road sits within Phase Two of the Meridian Water masterplan, which is expected to deliver up to 2,000 new homes as part of a long-term regeneration programme for the area.

In addition to new housing, Meridian Two will provide space for shops and businesses, creating new commercial opportunities and supporting local economic growth. The development is expected to help generate jobs and apprenticeships for local residents as construction progresses and commercial units come forward.

Deputy Mayor of London for Housing and Residential Development, Tom Copley, visited the site for a topping-out ceremony to mark the completion of the highest structural point at Meridian Two and to view progress on the scheme. The visit highlighted the delivery of new affordable homes as part of the Mayor of London’s wider housing ambitions.

Cllr Ergin Erbil, the Leader of Enfield Council, said: "We are seeing fast progress at Meridian Water, which will ultimately provide 10,000 homes and thousands of new jobs for local people.

"Meridian Two is a great chance to bring 100 per cent affordable housing to Edmonton, building on the success of Meridian One. The vision for Meridian Water is truly starting to come alive."
