Morro Partnerships Launches Motion Homes

A new phase of residential construction is beginning in the Midlands with the official launch of Motion Homes, a new, forward-thinking brand established by the experienced developer Morro Partnerships.

The new entity will utilise the parent company's three decades of experience in the affordable housing sector, shifting its mission to integrate innovation, strong community focus, and high standards of sustainability into the private homes market.

Matt Moore, CEO at Morro Partnerships and Motion Homes, outlined the strategic vision for the launch: "Our vision for Motion Homes isn't to just be another developer; we want to stand out in the market by building homes with a long-term view, driven by our own Innovation Hub, which tests new technologies and ensures homes are cost-effective to run for homeowners. We strongly believe in building communities, not just houses, and are committed to delivering the same high level of social value we bring to our Morro developments."

The initial development for the new brand, named The Woodlands, is currently under construction in Lightmoor Village, Telford. The site will feature 145 homes that are carefully designed and positioned within a peaceful, rural environment, close to parks, open spaces, retail shops, a nursery, and a primary school. A show home is already available for viewing on the site.

Mr Moore added that this is the ideal location to begin the new venture: "We are so excited to be revealing our new brand alongside our first open market development. This is the third phase of a historic project where Morro has already delivered 57 homes. Having been well integrated into the area for a few years, we feel The Woodlands is the perfect place to begin this next chapter. Motion will leverage the reputation, experience and specialisms Morro has achieved in the regeneration and affordable sector and bring this into the private market. The name 'Motion' is a reference to growth, diversification and progression, which is exactly what this means for our business."

Motion Homes plans to primarily target first-time buyers, with the housing focus being predominantly on popular two and three-bedroom houses. Plans are also confirmed to introduce assisted purchase schemes to help improve home accessibility for buyers.

In keeping with Morro Partnerships' core values, great emphasis is being placed on maximising social value and positive community impact on all developments.

Key social initiatives already undertaken include the donation of materials from Morro show homes, valued at £9,000, to three specific local causes: a local Youth Hub Centre, ABC Nursery, and Lightmoor Primary School. This effort promotes reusability while supporting crucial local organisations. To strengthen local links and engagement, local schoolchildren have participated in a site tour and designed posters for the construction hoarding to personalise the new community area.

Furthermore, collaborations are underway with Telford College and Shrewsbury College to establish work experience placements for T-Level candidates and other students, including those who are neurodivergent.

Abdul Mozzamdar, social value lead at Morro Partnerships and Motion Homes, reinforced the company's commitment:

"These initiatives are not one-offs but are part of a broader, long-term social value plan that demonstrates our commitment to communities. We are proud to continue delivering the same high level of social value under the Motion Homes brand and look forward to expanding our positive impact."
