Willmott Dixon has received the Gold Award under the Ministry of Defence's Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS), the scheme's highest tier, acknowledging exemplary backing for the armed forces community.

The honour reflects the company's enduring pledge to the Armed Forces Covenant and its support for veterans, Reservists, service families and Cadet Force adult volunteers.

The accolade was presented by Air Vice-Marshal Jo Lincoln MBE to Clare Francis, Head of Recruitment, and Andrew Stevenson, Regional Safety Health and Environment Lead and chair of Willmott Dixon's Armed Forces Affinity Group.

Stevenson has been instrumental in mentoring service leavers into civilian roles and driving the firm's partnership with BuildForce, which links former military personnel to opportunities across the construction sector.

As the business grows its work in defence, the recognition underscores its alignment with the Covenant and standing as a trusted partner.

Earlier in the autumn, Scott Corey, Chief of Strategic Accounts and Services, took part in the Defence Infrastructure Organisation's Cycling Through History challenge in the Fields of Flanders. With support from The Peter Willmott Foundation, the effort raised £6,550 for the Veterans' Foundation.

Looking ahead, the Gold Award marks progress to date and signals Willmott Dixon's continuing commitment to those who serve. The company is also sponsoring the 2026 Forces in Business Awards, which celebrate veterans' achievements in civilian careers, highlight the value they bring, and reinforce support for the armed forces community.
