Bellway Strategic Land has applied for outline planning permission to the City of Doncaster Council for a new residential development of approximately 111 homes in Branton, near Doncaster.
The proposed development is planned for a 16-acre site located off the B1396 Doncaster Road, situated on the eastern edge of the village. The application follows two consultation events held in July and November this year to inform local residents about the proposals and gather feedback.
The plans include designating 23 per cent of the properties as affordable homes to meet the local housing need within the area.
Alex Bowling, Bellway Strategic Land Manager for the North, confirmed the plans were submitted after detailed consultation: "We wanted people locally to know all about our proposals and have an opportunity to give their views and comments."
Design and Sustainability Features
Bellway highlighted that the plans focus on modern, high-quality homes within a well-designed setting that includes several public amenities:
• Plenty of green open space.
• New footpaths and cycleways connecting the development to the South Yorkshire countryside.
• Space designated for enjoyment and play around existing trees and hedgerows.
• Plans for further planting to support and enhance biodiversity within the development boundary.
Bowling added that Branton is an ideal location due to its existing facilities and sustainable transport links to the employment and services offered by Doncaster.
