YORhub has announced the appointment of eight contractors to its newly launched YORcivil Major Works 2 Framework, opening the door to major civil engineering projects across the Yorkshire and Humber region.
The framework enables local authorities and public sector bodies to award contracts valued at over £10 million for infrastructure schemes including highways, bridges and structural works, drainage, urban realm improvements, flood alleviation and coastal defence projects.
Managed jointly by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Sheffield City Council, the framework consists of a single lot for civil engineering projects exceeding £10 million in value.
The new framework is now live and will operate for an initial four-year period, with an option to extend for a further two years. It replaces the current YORcivil Major Works framework, which is due to expire in December 2025, and sits alongside the existing YORcivil3 framework, which covers projects up to £10 million.
