CPI EuroMix staff enjoyed a toe-tally terrific 'Step-tember', raising £36,788 with a record-breaking number of miles covered during the month-long charity challenge.

Colleagues across the dry mortar specialist's nine manufacturing sites took part in the annual fundraiser. It required participants to record their step count throughout September, with CPI donating 75p for each mile covered.

Collectively, colleagues' steps amounted to a staggering 24,525 miles, surpassing the previous year’s effort by nearly 5,000 miles. It means CPI will donate a hugely impressive £18,394, which will be shared between each site’s chosen charity.

CPI will make an additional £18,394 'Step-tember' donation to its corporate partner charity, Marie Curie, matching the total award to its UK sites.

Pen Le Kelly, CPI communication and engagement manager, said: "A huge well done to everyone who participated in the ‘Step-tember’ challenge. We smashed our previous record. The total miles covered by colleagues this year are equivalent to traveling from New York to New Zealand via London. Their remarkable effort will make a significant difference in the lives of many through the local charities supported."

Whether colleagues ran or walked whilst recording their steps, the 'Step-tember' challenge was a genuine companywide effort. There were some individual highlights. Harlow was CPI’s ‘top stepping’ site, amassing a sensational 7,969,523 steps (3,985 miles). The company’s Manchester site achieved the best average steps per person with 17,700 steps per person per day.
