Habiko, the affordable homes partnership between Pension Insurance Corporation (PIC) and Homes England, has unveiled its first two development sites, which will deliver a total of 590 new homes in Chester and Warrington.

These projects mark a key step toward Habiko's ambition to provide 3,000 low-carbon, energy-efficient affordable homes across England.

The Chester site is located on Charterhall Drive, adjacent to the city’s train station. Habiko is working with architect shedkm to develop design options for approximately 350 homes, with planning submission expected later this year. The plans are being shaped in consultation with the local community and aim to support Chester’s 15-year economic regeneration strategy and enhance the historic town centre.

In Warrington, the identified site is near the Times Square district, close to local amenities. Habiko is collaborating with AHR Architects to deliver around 240 homes between Academy Street and Mersey Street, creating a new community well-connected to the town centre.

Both locations were chosen as strategic growth areas, offering residents access to public transport, pedestrian routes, and vibrant local centres, ensuring the new homes are integrated into their surrounding communities.
