Milton Keynes MP Callum Anderson recently visited Bellway's new Tattenhoe Meadows development, to see first-hand how sustainable new homes are being delivered at pace across the city.

Mr Anderson, Labour MP for the Buckingham and Bletchley constituency and Parliamentary Private Secretary in the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, was joined by the Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr James Lancaster, for a tour of the site off Twain Way.

The visit comes as the Government targets the delivery of 1.5 million homes during this Parliament. Bellway is building 170 homes at Tattenhoe Meadows, incorporating sustainable technologies such as timber frames and electric air source heat pumps as part of the industry’s transition towards net zero.

The VIP visitors were welcomed by Bellway Northern Home Counties Managing Director Paul Smits, Construction Director Iain Hunter, Contracts Manager Sean Pitkin, Senior Sales Manager Lindsey Davenport and Site Manager Dan Patten.

"I was pleased to be able to join the Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr James Lancaster, on a visit to Tattenhoe Meadows to see the progress being made by Bellway on site. These 170 sustainable new homes will further boost the number of homes available to the people of Milton Keynes.

"It was particularly interesting to learn how Bellway is harnessing new technologies to help speed up the delivery of homes and reduce carbon emissions as the housing industry moves towards net zero."

Tattenhoe Meadows, part of the wider Tattenhoe Park neighbourhood on the city’s south-western edge, will deliver a mix of two-bedroom apartments and three- and four-bedroom houses. Of the 170 homes, 119 will be for private sale and 51 designated as affordable housing.

All homes will feature electric air source heat pumps, while 51 will be built using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), with sustainable timber frame panels replacing traditional brick and block methods. A total of 102 properties will also be designed to improve accessibility for residents with mobility needs.

The development includes landscaped green spaces, seating areas, and a network of footpaths and cycleways, with biodiversity supported through retained woodland, pollinator planting, and wildlife-friendly features such as bat boxes, hedgehog fencing, and habitat piles.

Tattenhoe Meadows marks Bellway's second phase of development at Tattenhoe Park, following the completion of 160 homes built entirely using MMC on a neighbouring site.
