Vistry Group, in partnership with Aspire Housing, has started construction on 39 new social rental homes for over-55s on Cross Street, Chesterton, Newcastle-under-Lyme.

The development will feature 23 apartments, eight bungalows, and eight maisonettes, enhancing supported living options in the area.

This marks a significant step forward in bringing much-needed affordable housing for those in their later years to the area, creating a vibrant and sustainable community. This third phase of the Aspire Housing Cross Street regeneration follows the completion of nine bungalows in phase one, and the ongoing construction of 43 homes in phase two. The wider £20 million programme focuses on delivering high-quality, affordable housing while supporting the local community.

Construction on phase three is scheduled to begin in the coming weeks, with completion expected by the end of 2026.
