Plans for more than 100 new homes in Sherburn-in-Elmet have been approved by the Planning Inspectorate.

The development, a joint project between Persimmon and Redrow, will see 106 homes built on land south of Bartlett View and Rochester Row. Twenty percent of the homes will be made available through a housing association, affordable rent, or the First Homes scheme.

The development will feature a mix of one- to four-bedroom properties, all equipped with air source heat pumps, solar panels, and electric vehicle charging points. New public open spaces, pedestrian links, and a play park will also be incorporated.

As part of the project, the developers will contribute over £1 million to local services, including £775,000 for primary and secondary education, £91,400 for early years provision, £75,960 for special educational needs support, and £127,206 for healthcare.
