Winvic Completes First Phase Of Atlantic Park Logistics Hub

Winvic Construction Ltd has completed the first phase of the major Atlantic Park logistics hub in Bootle, Liverpool, delivering 350,000 sq. ft of new industrial and logistics space as part of a landmark redevelopment of the former Rolls Royce Engineering Works.

Located within the Port of Liverpool Freeport zone, the 52-acre site is being developed by Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) Property and will ultimately provide 800,000 sq. ft of high-quality industrial space designed to meet the growing demand for sustainable logistics and manufacturing facilities across the North West.

As part of the completed first phase, Winvic has delivered four flexible and sustainable units ranging from 40,000 sq. ft to 125,000 sq. ft. Each features modern two-storey office space, large service yards, and a haunch height of 12.5 metres to accommodate a wide range of occupiers.

The development has been built in line with RLAM's Sustainability Strategy, targeting Net Zero operation by 2030. It has achieved BREEAM Excellent and EPC A ratings, alongside a 10% biodiversity net gain through the installation of bird, bat, and insect boxes. Around 20% of parking spaces also include EV charging points.

The successful delivery of phase one has led to Winvic's appointment to deliver the 420,000 sq. ft second phase of Atlantic Park. Construction on the three additional units — ranging from 53,750 sq. ft to 216,000 sq. ft — began in July under a 50-week build programme, with completion expected in summer 2026.

The second phase will be delivered as Net Zero Carbon in Construction, following Winvic’s Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) process, which aligns with RICS Whole Life Carbon Assessment, UKGBC, and LETI standards and is independently third-party verified.

Alongside its construction work, Winvic has developed an Employment and Skills Plan for the project, working with Sefton at Work, Invest Sefton, and supply chain partners to provide local training, employment, and educational opportunities.

Danny Nelson, Managing Director of Industrial, Distribution and Logistics at Winvic, said: "We are pleased to be working once again with RLAM to deliver the second phase of this impressive scheme in the Northwest and are proud to be appointed based on our high-quality delivery in phase one.

"With industry-leading credentials, Winvic worked collaboratively with RLAM to meet ambitious sustainability and social value goals for the first phase - and this will continue in phase two as we work to deliver Net Zero in construction.

"Atlantic Park is bringing in-demand state-of-the-art facilities and supporting regional growth through job creation and training opportunities and Winvic is proud to be the construction partner."
