Dumper Deal Of Intent From Touchstone Civil Engineering

Touchstone Civil Engineering, the Midlands based residential groundworker and civil engineering contractor has placed a fleet deal for 8 x 6-tonne ROPS+ and 2 x 9-tonne cabbed Thwaites dumper.

The deal delivers a statement of intent from Touchstone and gives further rise to their growing confidence in the market.

The company founded just 12 months ago, has enjoyed rapid expansion, whilst earning a growing reputation for its innovative technological approach to reducing risk, whilst delivering the highest levels of environmental and sustainable standards.

The order itself being a typification of the company’s vision and values as it delivers the very latest, next generation, safety solution and innovation… The Thwaites 6-Tonne ROPS+, in addition to 9-tonne cabbed machines, which come inclusive of air con, beacons, screen guard, front and rear cameras, UK road lights and tow bar..as standard.

ROPS+ is an extension of the existing Roll Over Protection System, (ROPS) The wrap around design places the operator in the best possible position to minimise risk, should a machine roll over occur.

The overhead latch bar is pulled over and locked into position in front of the operator. The seat must be sat on and the seat belt must be worn, with both having safety sensors that prevent any workarounds.

The machine will start, but not drive, until the 'Triple Lock' below is employed.

1) Operator sat on seat.

2) Operators seat belt fastened across the waist.

3) Operator deploys the overhead bar.

With a growing housing, groundworks and infrastructure project portfolio, these new dumpers, along with a fleet of recently acquired Hitachi ZX-130 (13-tonne) and ZX-210 (21-tonne) excavators will go straight to work on Touchstone contracts across the midlands.
