Cassidy Group Ltd has reached a key construction milestone with the topping out of Beckton House, its latest purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) in Beeston, Nottingham.

The five-storey development comprises 419 studio apartments and is being constructed by Winvic.

Funded by Zorin Finance, Beckton House will be operated by Fresh and is scheduled to open for the 2026/27 academic year. The building is strategically located next to the University of Nottingham, with both local universities connected via the city’s main tram line, which stops directly outside the development.

The structural frame was completed ahead of programme, marking a significant step in the project's progress. Cassidy Group director Patric Cassidy commented on the milestone, highlighting the efficiency of Winvic and the project’s consultancy team in keeping the schedule on track.

Designed entirely with studio apartments to meet local market demand, Beckton House will achieve an EPC 'A' energy rating. Cassidy noted the building’s specification and transport links position it as a modern addition to Nottingham’s student accommodation market.

Vinod Vijaya, lending director at Zorin Finance, said the Cassidy Group team’s organisation and thorough project analysis were key factors in financing the scheme.

Beckton House is part of Cassidy Group’s wider student accommodation portfolio, which includes 3,000 student beds and 1,000 apartments across England. The group is actively planning a build programme over the next two to three years and is looking to expand into further PBSA, build-to-rent, and large-scale residential schemes.
