A former brownfield site in Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, is being transformed into a new development of affordable, energy-efficient homes, led by Termrim Construction.

The project, known as Rawson Wood, is being delivered for Together Housing Group through EN:Procure’s new build framework, part of the northern social housing consortium Efficiency North.

The multi-million pound scheme will provide 30 affordable homes, helping to meet growing housing demand across Calderdale. It is being delivered through the Calderdale and Together Housing Investment Partnership (CTHIP), with support from the Homes England Affordable Homes Programme.

The brownfield site, previously home to an extra care scheme demolished in 2018, is now being regenerated to create a modern, sustainable community. Representatives from EN:Procure, Together Housing Group, Termrim Construction, Homes England, and Calderdale Council recently visited the site to mark progress on the build.

The development will include a mix of two- and three-bedroom homes, with three properties designed to meet enhanced accessibility standards, featuring level-access showers, wider parking bays and hoist-ready infrastructure.

Sustainability is central to the project. All homes will be gas-free, powered by air source heat pumps and solar PV panels, helping reduce carbon emissions and energy costs for future residents.

Located close to local schools, healthcare services and public transport, Rawson Wood provides a well-connected base for individuals and families in Sowerby Bridge.
