Premier Modular Builds New Security Facilities Across UK Airports

Premier Modular has secured a multi-million-pound contract to deliver new security buildings at Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands Airports.

The project forms part of a major investment programme across the Manchester Airport Group (MAG) estate and is being delivered in partnership with main contractor BAM.

The offsite construction specialist is responsible for the design and fit-out of the new facilities, which will upgrade and enhance existing airport infrastructure. Premier Modular has developed a bespoke modular building design that can be replicated across all three sites, ensuring consistency and efficiency. The approach has been tailored to reduce disruption in busy airport environments and simplify future management and maintenance.

In total, 42 modules will be delivered across the three airports. Manufacturing is taking place at Premier Modular’s offsite facility, allowing work to progress to tight schedules while minimising on-site activity. Construction is already underway at Manchester and London Stansted, with work at East Midlands due to start later this month.

David Harris, Managing Director at Premier Modular, said: "These projects are a prime example of modular's role in supporting critical infrastructure, especially in high security settings. With construction happening at our manufacturing facility, we are able to reduce disruption, keeping our time on site to a minimum and assembling in a matter of weeks, ensuring timeframes are met."

John McCarthy, Construction Manager at BAM, added: "When it came to finding a solution for the new security facilities, we knew that modular construction was the right solution for this project. Working together we have developed a design that we can quickly and easily install across the MAG sites with minimal disruption to everyday operations."
