Essential overnight roadworks will get underway on Hereford Street, Whitehouse Lane, and at the Whitehouse Lane and Philip Street junction in Bristol from Monday 13 October, lasting for approximately four weeks.

The works will include full road reconstruction, resurfacing, and new road markings. They mark the final phase of the Bedminster Green Highways Project, which is designed to improve accessibility, introduce a new cycle lane on Whitehouse Street, and make active travel safer and easier in the area.

To reduce disruption to businesses and road users, all works will take place overnight. Roads will be closed to motor vehicles between 6.30pm and 6am, with access maintained only for emergency services. Pedestrians and cyclists will still be able to pass through, although cyclists will be asked to dismount.

During the works, access to Windmill Hill for vehicles will be via St John’s Lane, and local businesses will remain open as usual during the day.
