Galliford Try Investments has secured planning permission to advance a major regeneration project in Leicester city centre, in partnership with Cityregen Leicester.

Leicester councillors have approved the proposals, which will transform the historic Corah Works site into a mixed-use development featuring 1,000 new homes, extensive public spaces, and improved connections between the city centre and Abbey Park.

As part of the plans, key elements of the 19th-century factory will be preserved. The façade of the 1865 Old Textile Building, along with two landmark chimneys, will be retained and reintegrated into the scheme, ensuring the site’s industrial heritage remains visible within the redevelopment. The wider masterplan also includes potential for new commercial units and a hotel.
