McLaren Construction (Midlands & North) has been appointed by Panattoni to design and build a new industrial and logistics facility at Panattoni Park Swindon, marking the company's first project with the developer in the South West.
The contract, due for completion in January 2026, involves the delivery of Unit 4, a 545,414 sq ft warehouse and distribution facility on the former Honda site. Construction is progressing, with steelwork complete and roofing and cladding underway. The development will include two storeys of office space, a decked car park, and all associated site works such as roads, service yards, parking, landscaping, drainage, and building services.
The facility is designed to achieve BREEAM 'Outstanding' and EPC A+ (offices) / A (warehouse) ratings, targeting net zero carbon for upfront emissions, with a performance goal of under 300kgCO₂/m².
The project team comprises UMC Architects as architect, KAM Project Consultants as quantity surveyor, BWB Consulting as structural and civil engineer, Construction CDM Services as principal designer, and C3 Design Approvals overseeing building control.
Panattoni Park Swindon will provide high-quality industrial space in a location with strong connectivity and established infrastructure, supporting Swindon’s role as a logistics hub in the South West.
Luke Arnold, Regional Director at McLaren Midlands & North, said of the contract award: "We're extremely proud to be working with Panattoni on this flagship industrial scheme in Swindon. It's a significant step in our growth across the South West and an opportunity to deliver a building of real environmental ambition. Our team is focused on meeting the fast-track programme and supporting Panattoni’s vision for the site's transformation."
