East Riding of Yorkshire Council is set to carry out a £100,000 improvement scheme on Main Street in Etton, near Beverley.
The work will cover the stretch between the junctions with the B1248 Bainton to Beverley road and New Road, and is scheduled to begin on Monday 22 September, lasting one week. All work will be carried out during the daytime.
The project includes resurfacing, structural patching, replacement of drain covers, and kerbing. During the works, the road will be closed to through traffic, with a diversion route in place via Etton Dikes, Moor Hill, Road from Heater Corner to Cow Bridge, East Street, South Dalton Road, Main Street (South Dalton), Etton Road, South Dalton Road (Etton), and Gardham Road. Access to properties within the work area will be maintained.
The scheme will be delivered by the council's own road maintenance team.
Further improvements are planned later in the year, including structural patching along the remaining length of Main Street. In summer 2026, the road is scheduled for surface dressing and the laying of chippings to strengthen the carriageway and protect it from potholes and other damage.
