A new ready-mixed concrete plant has been opened in Abergele, north Wales, by Heidelberg Materials.
The concrete plant, which serves to increase the company's footprint in the region, is capable of meeting the demands of major construction projects and is equally equipped to supply ready-mixed concrete for residential uses such as foundations, driveways, pathways and patios.
"Our new Abergele concrete plant is well placed to support a wide range of customers in the region," said Barry O'Hanlon, Area General Manager (Concrete) at Heidelberg Materials UK.
"We offer a fast, efficient and reliable supply of ready-mixed concrete and can supply any requirements, whether for a collect customer or for a large infrastructure project."
The plant is supplied by the company's adjacent Abergele quarry, removing the need for aggregate to be transported in by road and cutting associated carbon emissions. The site can supply all concrete needs – including high volume, specialist or bespoke mixes and low carbon concrete – to customers within a 20-mile radius.
The new plant has two concrete mixers, ensuring a reliable supply and efficient turnaround for customers.
