SP Energy Networks (SPEN) has concluded its 2025 agricultural show season, using the events as a platform to engage with the rural community on key infrastructure and safety matters.
The company's tour took it from Wales to Scotland, where it had a notable presence at The Royal Highland Show.
A central element of its presence was to discuss planned network upgrades and gather feedback on local infrastructure. The company’s teams engaged directly with farmers, business owners, and local residents to understand how its ongoing work to modernise the electricity network can best meet the needs of rural areas.
Alongside discussions on infrastructure, the company’s primary focus was on promoting electrical safety. A key feature of its stand was an overhead line demonstration which highlighted the dangers of working with tall machinery near power lines. This was supported by the "Look Out, Look Up!" campaign, designed to encourage vigilance and careful planning to prevent serious accidents.
The company stated that its engagement with hundreds of people at the shows provided valuable input that will help shape its future approach to work. It also noted that the events were an opportunity to build relationships and show its commitment to the communities it serves. With the 2025 season now over, SP Energy Networks has confirmed that planning is already underway for its 2026 agricultural show schedule.
