Sisk Wins €50m Contract For Center Parcs Longford Forest Expansion

Sisk has been appointed as the main contractor for the latest development phase at Center Parcs Longford Forest, with construction already under way.

The project is valued at €50 million and will increase the resort's capacity to approximately 3,500 guests per break.

Sisk, which completed the initial building phase of the resort in 2020, will construct 83 new lodges and a Lakeside restaurant. The project is expected to create 300 jobs during construction and around 250 permanent jobs once the new facilities are operational.

According to the source text, the resort, located near Ballymahon, has had a significant economic impact since it opened. In the 12 months between April 2023 and April 2024, it generated €58 million in GVA for the Irish economy and €23 million in Exchequer revenue. GVA, or Gross Value Added, is an economic measure of the value of goods and services produced in an area, industry, or sector.

Sustainability has been a key focus of the development planning. As part of the expansion, an air source heat pump-led network will power the new lodges. The new commercial buildings on the village will be powered by electricity rather than gas, and low-flow outlets will be used to reduce water consumption.

Leanne Broderick, Managing Director, Sisk said: "Sisk is delighted to win the Center Parcs extension project. Having completed the initial first phase of building works five years ago; this is a significant project win for us. We look forward to working with the  Center Parcs team again and extending its state-of-the-art facilities."

Daragh Feighery, Village Director, Center Parcs said: "Longford Forest continues to go from strength to strength and, in a short time, has become a firm favourite with families across Ireland. We are delighted to be working with Sisk again on the further development of Longford Forest, following on from our successful relationship during the initial build."
