GRAHAM has been appointed by Nuclear Waste Services (NWS) to deliver a £49.6 million critical infrastructure framework at the Low-Level Waste Repository in Cumbria.

The four-year Integrated Site Works Framework (ISWF) contract will cover a wide range of site infrastructure and operational support projects. These include replacing or upgrading ageing infrastructure, carrying out demolition and remediation works, installing and commissioning new operational systems, and supporting future operations at the repository.

The appointment builds on GRAHAM's existing work at the site, including the Southern Trench Cap Interim Membrane (STIM) project, which involves placing a protective new membrane over legacy disposal trenches to enable future capping operations. The work highlights GRAHAM's ongoing commitment to optimising the repository for future use while maintaining safety and compliance.
