High Street in Whitchurch is set to undergo resurfacing from Monday 1 to Friday 5 September as part of Shropshire Council’s ongoing road improvement programme. A small section of Green End will also be resurfaced during the works.
Both roads will be closed daily between 9.30am and 4pm while the work is carried out. Signed diversions will be in place, and access for residents and businesses within the closure will be maintained where it is safe to do so. Depending on vehicle type, drivers may also be able to use alternative diversion routes.
The council has asked motorists not to park on the affected roads during working hours.
Access to the works area will be limited to residents, local businesses, pedestrians, dismounted cyclists, equestrians and emergency vehicles.
Shropshire Council has also advised that the schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Any updates will be displayed on roadside signs and online at one.network.
The resurfacing will be carried out by Kier on behalf of Shropshire Council.
