A groundbreaking partnership between AmcoGiffen and Safety Shield Global has led to the launch of an AI-driven safety solution aimed at dramatically reducing workplace accidents.
The new S.T.R.E.A.M app — short for Site Team Reporting and Emergency Accident Management — uses advanced Human Form Recognition (HFR) technology tailored to specific site dimensions and plant operations. Designed to detect activities, processes or behaviours that could lead to a People Plant Interface (PPI) incident, the app sends real-time alerts to supervisors and escalates information to project and contract managers, enabling immediate intervention.
Born from AmcoGiffen's strategic and behavioural safety objectives, the system was developed with Safety Shield Global, a leading provider of AI safety solutions. Field trials on a live project have already recorded an 88% drop in PPI incidents, leading AmcoGiffen to mandate its use on all new sites.
S.T.R.E.A.M integrates with Safety Shield’s award-winning Vue portal, which collects PPI data from camera-monitored plant machinery and issues audio and visual warnings when a person enters danger zones. The app extends this capability by making the information accessible faster and more widely across the workforce. It is fully adaptable for industries such as construction, rail, warehousing, agriculture and waste management.

Understanding the cause enables a real-time intervention to stop work, and for the workforce to identify and agree different ways of working to eliminate PPI risk. We have already seen staggering results."
