Unite Students has been granted planning permission for a 511-bed scheme in Kennington Lane, Lambeth, set to open for the 2029/30 academic year.
The development, designed by AHMM architects, will offer strong transport links to King's College London, University of the Arts London and London South Bank University. Facilities will include a cinema room, karaoke room, gym, breakout study spaces, and a landscaped terrace.
As part of a mixed-use plan, the project will also provide community and light industrial space alongside enhanced public landscaping along Kennington Lane.
Lambeth Council unanimously approved the proposals, citing the positive community impact and potential to boost the local job market.
The Kennington Lane scheme forms part of Unite Students’ record development pipeline, which now totals 10,000 beds scheduled for delivery over the next five years, representing a £1.9 billion investment.
