McLaughlin & Harvey has been named main contractor for the construction of the new Guy's Elective Surgical Centre at the Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital site in London.
The eight-storey facility will house six new theatres, increasing surgical capacity and enabling the Trust to treat more patients in a modern, purpose-built environment. Designed by architects Ryder, the building aims to improve patient and staff experience by streamlining the flow of people through the centre.
Paul Griffen, Managing Director of McLaughlin & Harvey, said: "With a history of delivering sustainable and considerate healthcare facilities across the UK that enhance the experience for patients and staff, McLaughlin & Harvey is well positioned to support the Guy’s and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust to deliver this project."
Construction is scheduled to start in summer 2026 and be completed by the end of 2028.
