Vistry Group has exchanged contracts on a deal to deliver 60 affordable homes on Titford Road, Oldbury.
The new development, formerly owned by ASDA and earmarked for regeneration by the local council, will include a mix of two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes. The scheme aims to help address the significant housing shortage in the area while also enhancing local green spaces.
Michael Moore, Managing Director of Vistry North West Midlands, said: "We are thrilled to be working on this development which will not only meet the housing needs of the community but will protect wildlife and ecology whilst bringing investment for services for the area.
"We're excited to be a part of Oldbury’s growth and to be entrusted with the build of these much-needed affordable homes which will help meet the significant housing shortage in the area and create a thriving and sustainable community."
Planning permission for the site was granted in April 2025. Environmental considerations played a key role in shaping the scheme, with Vistry engaging a team of ecologists to carry out comprehensive surveys. The proposals were developed in line with Natural England guidance and relevant legislation.
Key ecological features of the scheme include the retention and enhancement of the site’s existing watercourse, the creation of a green buffer zone with native planting to boost biodiversity, and the planting of new trees to replace low-quality ones being removed. The development will also improve public access to the area, opening up green space for community use.
