Edmond Shipway has completed a multi-year energy transition scheme with Coventry Building Society.

In line with the Coventry Building Society's commitment to net zero, the scheme, which commenced in 2023, sought to replace existing gas systems within 22 sites in the branch network, delivering alternative electrical provision for heating and hot water.

The programme of works included removing existing gas boilers, replaced with new electrical water heaters and programmable electric panel heaters. Some sites also required new electrical distribution boards and utility upgrades to accommodate higher electrical capacity requirements.

James Archer, associate director at Edmond Shipway, said: "Supporting the transition to net zero is a key endeavor for our business, assisting firms in the upgrade of their estates and delivering infrastructure that is fit for the future.

"Several of the branches – such as in Bath – are housed within listed buildings and had heritage aspects to consider which we were able to successfully navigate to comply with planning constraints."

Edmond Shipway provided project management, M&E and quantity surveying services on the multi-year scheme, operating on branches between August 2023 and early 2025.
