Lovell has broken ground on a new residential development in Port Sunlight, set to transform a long-vacant brownfield industrial site into a thriving community of 115 high-quality homes.

Located on Dock Road North, the development supports the local authority’s strategy to unlock underused land for much-needed housing across Wirral. The scheme will feature a range of two, three, and four-bedroom homes, blending open-market sales with a significant proportion of affordable housing.

Of the 115 homes, more than 30% will be affordable, exceeding Wirral Council's planning policy requirement of 20%. Lovell will deliver 42 affordable homes in partnership with Onward Homes and Wirral Council.

Lovell will deliver 42 affordable homes across the development, including four affordable homes as part of the First Homes scheme, which offers local first-time buyers and key workers a 30-50% discount on new-build homes."

The remaining 38 affordable homes will be offered through a mix of rental, shared ownership, and rent-to-buy tenures. This builds on Lovell’s existing partnership with Onward Homes, following their ongoing collaboration at the 66-home development at the former Foxfield School site in Moreton.
