The Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero hasgranted development consent for the Mona Offshore Wind Farm.
The scheme, located in the Irish Sea, will deliver approximately 1,500MW of clean energy capacity and forms part of the Round 4 Offshore Wind Licensing Arrangements. The application was submitted by Mona Offshore Wind Limited to the Planning Inspectorate on 22 February 2024 and accepted for examination on 21 March 2024.
Following a six-month examination process that included input from the public, statutory bodies and stakeholders, recommendations were made to the Secretary of State on 16 April 2025.
