Dalkia UK has officially assumed responsibility for the facilities management services at eight nuclear power stations operated by EDF Nuclear Operations.

The newly secured contract includes a wide range of essential services, including mechanical and electrical maintenance, building and grounds upkeep, industrial services, catering, waste management, and office support. This comprehensive agreement reinforces Dalkia's long-term commitment to delivering integrated facilities solutions in highly regulated environments.

As part of the transition, approximately 1,000 employees based across the eight nuclear sites - Dungeness B, Hartlepool, Heysham 1 and 2, Hinkley Point B, Hunterston B, Sizewell B, and Torness - will join Dalkia UK's Facilities Division. The company praised the incoming teams for their experience and dedication, emphasising its commitment to a seamless and supportive integration process grounded in a culture of excellence and innovation.

Dalkia has pledged to uphold the highest safety standards while continuously enhancing service quality and fostering stronger collaboration with EDF. The company also plans to invest significantly in training and professional development to empower its workforce and support long-term success.

This contract represents a milestone in Dalkia’s UK strategy, with the nuclear sector now accounting for 25% of its business. The agreement is expected to add more than £200 million to the company's order book.

Mark Hartley, Managing Director of EDF Nuclear Operations, said: "I am grateful for the positive engagement of the Facilities Management teams working on EDF's existing nuclear power stations in the UK. I am confident that they will continue to thrive under the leadership of Dalkia and contribute to the enhanced performance of our fleet over the coming years."
