Galliford Try has marked a key construction milestone at its flagship project, The Rise, with a topping out ceremony celebrating the completion of the building’s structure at Guildford Crescent in the heart of Cardiff.

Once completed, The Rise will become Cardiff's tallest building, delivering 272 build-to-rent apartments, along with ground-floor retail units and amenity spaces on the ground, first, and 27th floors. The landmark development is being delivered by Galliford Try on behalf of client Lloyds Living, with funding provided through private investment and Galliford Try Investments acting as client representative.

The ceremony brought together partners and stakeholders to mark the significant achievement, with speeches from Simon Courtney, Managing Director for Galliford Try’s Building West Midlands and South West, and Phil Harris, Managing Director of Galliford Try Investments, alongside representatives from Lloyds Living. To commemorate the occasion, Courtney presented a specially engraved silver trowel to Lloyds Living.

The project highlights Galliford Try's commitment to construction innovation, using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) throughout the build. This includes pre-cast concrete panels supplied by Creagh through their Rapid Res System, integrating the building’s façade, floor planks, internal walls, and stairwells. Bathroom and shower pods were delivered by Off-Site Solutions, with MEPV installation carried out by Blues.
