Council Invests £200,000 In A15 Improvements

Essential overnight roadworks are set to take place in July near North Ferriby, as part of a £200,000 investment by East Riding of Yorkshire Council to improve a key stretch of the A15.

The project will involve resurfacing the road and replacing the foundation layers between Humberfield roundabout and the junction with Ferriby High Road, where the A15 connects with the A63. The work is scheduled to begin on Monday, 7 July.

In addition to the road upgrades, the scheme will include the clearing of overgrown vegetation from the adjacent footpath to improve pedestrian access and safety.

The improvements will be carried out overnight between 8pm and 5am, from Monday evenings to Saturday mornings, and are expected to last for two weeks.

To enable the work, the westbound slip road off the A63 and the affected section of the A15 will be closed during these hours. A signed diversion will be in place, directing traffic for North Ferriby and the Humber Bridge along the A63 to the Melton Interchange, before returning via the A63 eastbound.

The roads will remain open outside of working hours, minimising disruption to daytime traffic.

Adam Holmes, director of infrastructure and facilities at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: "These are essential road improvements, and we have scheduled them to be carried out overnight, to cause the least disruption to traffic.

"We want to thank motorists and local residents and businesses in advance for bearing with us while the work is carried out."
