Severn Trent Begins £2m Water Network Upgrade In Hampton Magna

Severn Trent has officially started work on a major infrastructure upgrade in Hampton Magna, marking the beginning of a £2 million investment aimed at improving the village's water network.

The project involves replacing ageing water pipes to provide a more reliable and resilient supply for the local community. The work began this week on Damson Road and will continue in phases across several streets, including Cherry Lane, Woodway Avenue, Daly Avenue, Summer Close, Old Budbrooke Road, Field Barn Road, and Blandford Way. The first phase is scheduled to conclude in Church Lane by November 2025.

The scheme will also extend to nearby Hampton on the Hill, with plans currently in development. Severn Trent has pledged to keep customers fully informed before work begins in that area.

Gracie Lazenby, Community Liaison Officer for Warwickshire, acknowledged the potential disruption to residents, stated: "We understand that these types of works can cause disruption, and we want to thank everyone for their patience as our teams are working.

"We're looking forward to working closely with the community throughout the project and making improvements that will have a long-lasting impact for everyone.

"As our work continues, will we make sure that we liaise with all our customers and keep them informed of our progress."

The Hampton Magna upgrade is part of Severn Trent's wider mains renewal programme, one of the largest water infrastructure projects in the UK in over a decade. The utility company is investing £415 million across its region, with plans to renew nearly 870 miles of ageing water pipes and create more than 440 new jobs by 2030.
