A group of subcontractors working on a Citi project in London have come together to fund a new minibus for a Streatham-based charity that supports children and young people.
Overbury, along with members of its Citi project supply chain, have collectively financed a Variety Sunshine Coach for the Streatham Youth & Community Trust. The donation was made through Variety Golf, part of the national charity Variety – The Children's Charity.
The new Sunshine Coach will provide vital transport for children in the local area, allowing them to attend events, access opportunities and enjoy day trips that might otherwise be out of reach.
The fundraising effort saw workers from across the project team take on a range of sponsored challenges, raising both funds and awareness for the cause.
Ziggy Seagroatt, owner of LDD Construction and the person who initiated the idea, said: "It is amazing to have played our part in funding this important community resource.
"Everyone across the site has been involved in fundraising, showing an incredible commitment to such an important cause.
We look forward to hearing more about the adventures the children will have thanks to the bus."
Streatham Youth & Community Trust, which has been supporting children, young people, and vulnerable adults since 1946, operates across three venues in the area. The charity’s mission is to help local residents reach their full potential.
