Persimmon Homes Submits Plans for 150 New Houses In Pickering

Persimmon Homes has submitted a planning application to North Yorkshire Council for the construction of 150 new homes on Firthland Road in Pickering.

The proposal includes a mix of two- to four-bedroom homes, designed to meet new energy efficiency standards and equipped with electric vehicle (EV) chargers. In line with planning policy, 35% of the homes would be allocated as affordable housing.

As part of the development, Persimmon would make contributions to local infrastructure through a Section 106 agreement. The scheme also features a landscape-led design that aims to create well-connected spaces while preserving existing natural features such as hedgerows.

The proposed site is located within walking distance of local bus stops, offering residents convenient public transport links throughout the area.

Graham Whiteford, Planning Director at Persimmon Yorkshire, said: "We're delighted to have submitted plans for new, high quality and energy efficient homes in this part of Yorkshire.

"With the need for new housing rightly high up the political agenda, we’re working hard to play our part in delivering new homes for first-time buyers, families and downsizers alike.

"We look forward to engaging with residents, North Yorkshire Council and local stakeholders on these exciting plans."

The application is now under review by North Yorkshire Council, with public consultation expected to follow.
