Adam Crossley Appointed To Skanska UK Executive Team

Skanska UK has announced the appointment of Adam Crossley to its Executive Management Team, where he will take on responsibility for HR, communications and customer experience.

Crossley will succeed Harvey Francis, who is retiring at the end of June after sixteen years in the role.

Crossley, who officially takes up the post of Executive Vice President on 30 June 2025, has been with Skanska since 2007, serving in a range of operational and strategic roles. For the past ten years, he has been a member of the Senior Management Team as Director of Sustainability. In that capacity, he played a key role in shaping Skanska UK's net-zero target, committing the company to cutting both direct and supply chain carbon emissions by 2045.

Prior to joining Skanska, Crossley served as an officer in the British Army and studied Anthropology at Oxford University. He also founded the Sophie Hayes Foundation, a charity dedicated to supporting women survivors of modern slavery. In his new role, Crossley will also act as executive sponsor of Skanska’s Origins Nationality Ethnicity (O.N.E.) employee network.

Welcoming the appointment, Skanska UK President & CEO Katy Dowding said: "Adam brings a breadth of experience to his new role with a proven track record of leadership across multiple disciplines, a steadfast commitment to Skanska’s values, and a dedication to fostering the best possible employee experience. His fresh perspective and diversity of thinking will be invaluable additions to our Executive Management Team."

Harvey Francis will step down after a distinguished career leading Skanska’s HR function, during which he spearheaded initiatives in inclusion and diversity, oversaw the development of forward-thinking workplace environments, and played a central role in strategic business planning.
