Galliford Try's Environment business has been honoured with a prestigious Silver Green World Award in recognition of its outstanding environmental efforts at the Tophill Low Water Treatment Works (WTW).

The project was selected from more than 1,200 entries worldwide, highlighting the global significance of its achievements. The Tophill Low WTW scheme repurposed an impressive 25,050 tonnes of historic waste, saving approximately £3 million and cutting carbon dioxide emissions by 105 tonnes. In addition to the environmental benefits, the project also delivered new accessible viewing platforms and created a major wildlife habitat, enhancing the site for both nature and the local community.

The Green World Awards, presented by The Green Organisation, are an international extension of the well-known Green Apple Awards. They recognise innovative and effective environmental practices across both public and private sectors.
