Dale Turner, Director of Procurement and Supply Chain at Skanska UK, has been appointed Chair of the Supply Chain Sustainability School.
Turner succeeds Shaun McCarthy OBE, who co-founded the School in 2012 and has led it since its inception. McCarthy will now transition into a roaming ambassador role, continuing to support the School's work both in the UK and internationally.
With over 25 years of experience in the construction industry across both building and civil engineering sectors, Turner brings deep expertise to the role. At Skanska, he leads strategic procurement and sustainable supply chain initiatives across the UK. He is also a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), Chair of the Building Confidence supply chain assurance programme, and a frequent speaker on sustainable procurement. Turner has been involved with the School's leadership team since 2013.
"I'm pleased to be taking on the role of Chair at what is an important time for the School and the wider industry," said Turner. "Our sector continues to face significant sustainability challenges, and the School plays a key role in helping organisations and supply chains to respond. I look forward to supporting its continued growth and impact."
Shaun McCarthy OBE will continue contributing to the School’s development through Action Sustainability CIC, a social enterprise focused on international collaboration and sustainability initiatives.
"It has been a privilege to Chair the School for over a decade," said McCarthy. "We've built something unique – an industry-led collaboration delivering real value. Dale's experience and leadership make him the right choice to take this forward. I'm proud to continue supporting the team in a new capacity."
