Bio-Based Insulation: Why It's Best

Save up to 90% on your heating.

Stay warm, save energy, and go green! Bio-based interior insulation is the natural way to keep your home cosy all year round.

Sustainable wood fibre is a safe, proven and effective way to insulate solid interior walls it delivers superior thermal performance, saves money, regulates moisture all whilst promoting a healthier indoor environment.

Upgrade to insulation that’s better for your home, your pocket—and the planet!

Natural insulation materials are a perfect solution for broadening the range of applications that comply with the updated regulations and meet the U value and hygrothermal requirements of the element to be upgraded. This is of significant benefit for solid wall insulation applications where synthetic alternatives may create additional moisture control issues.

Natural Materials and Retrofitting Projects

The use of natural materials for retrofit projects seems to be being driven by several factors, but as new regulations make few positive changes to retrofit, we need to look elsewhere for guidance (or activity) that is driving the use of natural materials, specifically in retrofit.

The main drivers for IWI systems determine the usability and type of system that is used are:

• ease of installation

• air quality

• impact on room size

• reducing moisture risks

• thermal performance

• reducing petrochemicals

• payback period

• carbon storage

• comfort

• health

• cost

Everybody will have different priorities, but a robust long-term solution will address as many of these issues as possible. The Building Regulations focus predominantly on Thermal performance.
