Lovell has received full planning approval from Somerset Council to build 80 new homes in the village of Cotford St Luke, near Taunton, following unanimous approval of the site's reserved matters application.
The £25 million development will be located off Dene Road, approximately five miles from Taunton town centre, and will deliver a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes. Of the 80 homes, 60 will be available for open market sale with the remaining 20 designated as affordable housing.
As part of Lovell's commitment to sustainability, all homes will be gas-free and equipped with air source heat pumps. The project also includes a minimum 10% Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), ensuring the development improves the ecological value of the area compared to its previous condition.
The scheme will also provide extensive community amenities, including public open spaces, allotments, play areas, and a network of footpaths and cycleways designed for both current and future residents.
Construction is scheduled to begin in late summer 2025, with completion expected by mid-2027.
