Willmott Dixon has successfully delivered two state-of-the-art healthcare facilities at the Adanac Health and Innovation Campus in Southampton.
The new facilities include a highly specialised aseptic pharmacy and a Sterile Services Department (SSD), developed in collaboration with Prime plc. The aseptic pharmacy will produce sterile medicines for University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust (UHS) and other regional NHS providers, while the SSD will manage the sterilisation of medical equipment and devices.
A feature of the new pharmacy is its upcoming exclusive production of TBN, a vital medication for premature babies, which will serve the entire Southern UK region.
The project was delivered through a public-private partnership involving Prime plc, University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust, Macquarie Group, and IHSS, showcasing the collaborative approach to meeting evolving healthcare infrastructure needs.
Specialist cleanroom contractor Enblock Ltd was brought on board to ensure the facilities meet the highest hygiene and operational standards required for such critical services.
Designed with sustainability in mind, both buildings have achieved BREEAM Excellent certification and are equipped with photovoltaic panels to generate renewable energy.
