Work Begins On Upper Trinity Street Regeneration In Birmingham

Construction News Image
Construction has begun on one of Birmingham's most eagerly awaited regeneration projects, Upper Trinity Street.

The development is a joint venture between Caddick Construction, Cole Waterhouse, Taurus Investment Holdings and Housing Growth Partnership.

The start of work on the Digbeth-based scheme was marked by a ceremonial event attended by Simon Delahunty-Forest, Assistant Director within Planning & Development at Birmingham City Council, alongside key partners in the development and supply chain.

Once complete, Upper Trinity Street will become a central part of a broader masterplan aimed at transforming Digbeth into a vibrant creative and cultural destination. The regeneration effort includes the creation of public spaces such as Pump House Park and Makers Courtyards, a collection of flexible workspaces, as well as Adderley Yard, a venue designed for leisure and urban events.

The first phase of the project is expected to be delivered by Spring 2027. It will bring 211 new apartments to the area, with a mix of 115 one-bedroom and 96 two-bedroom units across 182,986 sq. ft of residential space.

The milestone coincides with Caddick Construction approaching its two-year anniversary in the Midlands, following its regional launch in 2023. Upper Trinity Street is the latest addition to Caddick’s expanding portfolio of residential and industrial projects in the area.

Ray O'Sullivan, Regional Managing Director of Caddick Construction Midlands, said: "The redevelopment of brownfield land is an extremely valuable way of meeting growing demand for housing, and regeneration projects of this nature bring much more than homes for local people. Once complete the scheme is set to be a catalyst for growth and investment in Birmingham, but more specifically the Digbeth area, and we look forward to bringing our expertise in high-rise residential to this fantastic scheme for Cole Waterhouse."

Simon Gallanders, Managing Director of Residential at Cole Waterhouse, added: "The excellent progress Caddick have achieved on site marks a significant milestone in the regeneration of the area. Our thanks to our joint venture partners Taurus Investment Holdings and Housing Growth Partnership as well as the support from our senior debt provider BGO and the West Midlands Combined Authority to get us on site and progressing this exciting scheme."
