Work is set to begin in April on a new community building and GP surgery in South West Exeter, marking the final phase of infrastructure development in the area.

The project is part of a £48.6 million investment from the Government’s Housing Infrastructure Fund, administered by Homes England, supporting the creation of 2,500 new homes on the outskirts of the city.

The community building will offer a range of facilities across two levels, including a hall, studio, meeting rooms, a multi-use foyer, and a kitchen, providing valuable space for local events and activities.

The new GP surgery is designed to accommodate the area's growing population. It will be constructed in two phases:

Phase One – A ground-floor facility with six consulting rooms.

Phase Two – A lower ground floor, delivered as a shell for future NHS fit-out to expand capacity.

Located near Matford Brook Academy, the site is easily accessible via the new bridge over the A379, with dedicated cycle parking and 29 parking spaces, including disabled bays and EV charging points.
